Blood Supply Low Nationwide
Last month’s snowstorm canceled American Red Cross blood drives nationwide which has impacted the blood supply on top of an ongoing shortage. The cancellations have caused more than 20,000 blood and platelet donations to go uncollected. Jason Keeling of Allegheny Highlands Red Cross says donors have an incentive to give now and make up the shortage…
“Hundreds of blood drives have been canceled throughout the country, and many here locally, so listeners who are inclined to donate blood are encouraged to come out now because it really is a time where your donation can help even more. When you donate you receive a $20 e-gift card that can be used at a merchant of your choice, and that’s through February 28th.”
