Buckel Has Budget Amendment Passed
During House debate on the Maryland budget Wednesday, House Minority Leader Jason Buckel was able to secure a budget amendment adding more accountability to non-profits in the state. Appropriations Committee Chair Ben Barnes agreed the amendment was needed…
“What the amendment would do is for a non-profit organization receiving grants from state agencies or state institutions of higher education, the non-profit organization would have to provide proof that it is properly certified at the time of the grant, also at the time they enter into contracts to extend the grant.”
