Buckel Says Increases Are Coming

Maryland House Minority Leader Jason Buckel is preparing for the General Assembly to tackle a significant deficit while Democrats still want to maintain or increase spending on existing programs. One is the Blueprint For Education, a multi-year, multi-billion dollar effort to improve student outcomes. “We’re out of money – so the only way to keep paying for the Blueprint is to raise everybody’s taxes. So you’re looking at sales tax increases, you’re looking at income tax increases, you’re looking at property tax increases. And those are things that are on the board for the Maryland Democratic leadership and the General Assembly coming next year.”
