Buckel Says Minority Fights For Marylanders
Being the House Minority Leader in Annapolis, Jason Buckel has seen a great deal of battles lost in trying to get bills and amendments passed through the Democratic super-majority. He told WBAL Radio that Republicans try to mitigate damage on bills where possible through debate and negotiation, but when that fails, they stand up for their convictions…
“When we have situations where we, look, we’ve tried to reason with our Democratic colleagues, we’ve tried to work through the committee process, we’ve tried to negotiate the best deals we can. And when that doesn’t work, then we go and fight them wholeheartedly. And we try to get members of the media to help us, through reporting, to let the public know what’s really going on down here.”
