Buckel: Special Session Doesn’t Address Resident Concerns

Kathy Cornwell

House Minority Leader Jason Buckel says the coming special session for the Maryland General Assembly won’t address what Maryland residents really care about right now. The special session scheduled for August 3rd through the 5th, will only deal with possibly overriding vetoes and a constitutional amendment redrawing the state’s congressional districts. Buckel was on the Kim Klacik show, saying there’s bigger issues to deal with…

“We’ve got a lot of economic issues, tax and fee issues, affordability issues, energy issues, juvenile crime issues, educational issues. And here we are, we’re going to take the time, take the money, take everybody’s resources, bring us back down here for a few days. But if we’re not even going to talk about the main issues that confront everyday Marylanders, that’s kind of a slap in the face.”
