Caller Wants Attention on Bikers

A caller to WCBC recently had the chance to share his experience with the increasing numbers of bikes and e-bikes on city streets and the danger they present. Caller Junior Couter said they are not obeying traffic laws…

“These bikers are not observing traffic lights. They go through the traffic signals where people are – we’re waiting on the red light and they’re just going straight through.”

Mayor Ray Morriss took the call on-air from Couter and agreed that the issues need to be addressed…

“Unfortunately, we’re going to have to start looking at some sort of citations for bikers that are doing that. I’ve seen it. I’ve had bikes literally come almost right at me on a city street and it’s been getting out of hand.”
