Canal Community Days Comes to Allegany County

On Saturday, August 29th, area residents can volunteer to clean up the C&O Canal National Historical Park at mile 184.5 where the C&O meets the Great Allegany Passage. From 9am to Noon, volunteers will pick up trash and remove invasive vegetation. Registration is at canaltrust.org. Tymber Compher, with the C&O Canal Trust says the event is an opportunity to learn more about the park and the work of the Trust…
“They receive a welcome and some information about the park. We disperse people into different groups to do different volunteer projects. At this particular event, we’ll also have a table with a Trust tent to learn a little bit more about the park.”
