Founded by retired Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon, Dr. Benjamin Carson and his wife, the Carson Scholars Fund recognizes students in grades 4 -11 who demonstrate academic excellence and commitment to community. New Carson Scholars in Allegany County this year are Corinna Hilderbrand from Allegany High School, Adaline Carder from Fort Hill, Anna Hampton from Braddock Middle, Abigail Shipley from Parkside Elementary, and Madelyn Moran from Northeast Elementary.  Dr. Sarah Welsh, Supervisor of ELA and Reading, congratulated the students…

“You have shown remarkable dedication in the classroom, and a selfless spirit outside of it. You are the embodiment of what we strive for in this district.  Your hard work, intellectual curiosity, and generosity inspire us all.”
