CEDC Updates On Memorial Hospital Site

A clearer picture is emerging of what new housing could look like at the former Memorial Hospital site in Johnson Heights. Several building proposals have fallen through in past years, but now the CEDC’s Matt Miller says a new concept plan done in conjunction with Specs Engineering may help interested developers…

“The current conceptual plan provides for 18 single family homes and 20 duplex townhome buildings. While the ultimate development program may change, as the project progresses, the conceptual plan gives us a much stronger basis for estimating development costs and identifying infrastructure needs.”

Miller says the plan is only an idea but they definitely want to respect the character of the neighborhood…

“We want to be thoughtful about the overall character of the development including housing types, density, scale, site layout, connectivity so the new development fits appropriately within the surrounding residential community.”
