” We’re deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and colleague Ray Garthwaite, his positive spirit of dedication left the lasting impression on those who worked with him. Ray began his employment with the city of Cumberland on April 13th of 2022 as an operator in training at the water filtration plan. He was promoted to Plant Technician III as a fully licensed water filtration operator in September 2025. Even while facing serious health challenges Ray continued to show up with resilience. professionalism and care for those around him. His perseverance a kindness will not be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
