City Revisiting Home Service Line Warranty

The City of Cumberland is revisiting a Home Service Line Warranty program that would give city residents the option to pay monthly for insurance for their water and sewer line from the city source to their house.  At the most recent Mayor and City Council meeting, Administrator Jeff Silka said the optional fee would only be provided for residents within city limits…

 

“What this does is provides a voluntary insurance for water line and sewer line maintenance.  Right now, if your water line breaks between the meter and your house, it’s your responsibility—or the sewer line—and this pays up to $12,000 per call.”
