Maryland’s redistricting advisory commission continues to meet, working on developing a new, midcycle congressional map for the state. Ideas for new maps are open to the public, so submissions for the “fair and representative” maps wanted by Governor Moore may be varied. Commission member Ray Morriss told WCBC he believes the map put forth under Larry Hogan would be best for Western Maryland…

“The map that the independent redistricting commission that Governor Hogan had a few years back – I think that would be one that would serve the citizens of Allegany, Garrett, and Washington county well. It showed a change in taking the sixth district back into Carroll County where it used to be, into Howard County, and going across the upper end of Montgomery County.”
