Comptroller Shares BPW Wins For Region

Maryland Comptroller Brooke Lierman visited the region last week to check in on recovery progress from last year’s flooding in Georges Creek.  The office of Comptroller worked with businesses in the area on tax deferrals and loans in the wake of the disaster. Lierman also shared with WCBC the results of requests that have come to the Board of Public Works for the benefit of the area…

“We funded 22 projects, almost $1.2 million dollars in initiatives just this year and that’s for like capital grants at the county and municipal level. We spent almost $10 million dollars this year for twelve projects. Since I’ve been in office, we’ve funded over 105 projects.”
