Congresswoman Introduces Bill To Block Detention Center

Congresswoman April McClain-Delaney has introduced a bill to prevent Immigration and Customs Enforcement from establishing a planned detention center in Williamsport or elsewhere in Washington County. The “Keep ICE Out of Washington County Maryland Act” would bar use of Congressionally-appointed funding for the project and provide a legal pathway for residents and state and local officials to challenge any such facility in court.
