County Discusses Ways to Fund Shelter

The future of grant writing and fundraising for the Allegany County Animal Shelter was discussed recently at a commissioner work session. The county will be looking into the setup of the Garrett County shelter’s methods, but Commissioner Bill Atkinson said that the local shelter needs some way to raise funds or receive donations…

“There has to be some way for them to write grants and to get money, and I know they need to have a way, also to – when they do their events and festivals they do – to sell tickets online and do things like that.”
