County EMS In Need of Ambulances

As Allegany County’s budget season begins, one of the top needs is ambulances, according to the Department of Emergency Services Director Roger Bennett. Bennett informed the County Commissioners during a Public Work Session that just recently four out of eight of the County’s ambulances were out of service…
“Our problem is our mileage is high, and our years are getting old. If we ordered an ambulance today, it would take between 24 and 36 months to arrive. So, what we buy today is going to be a fix down the line, so, we’ll continue to kind of put in a little bit of money, invest into what we have to keep them going until we can get new ones online.”
