Death of John Michaels Loss for Community

A leading advocate for the physically challenged has died due to a vehicle accident Friday afternoon.  John Michaels, 50, of Frostburg, died due to injuries in a crash on National Highway at Vale Summit.  Michaels was an assistant director at Resources for Independence.  He first became known to the larger community due to his athletic prowess at Beall High School.  WCBC Sports Team member Adam Sterne knew Michaels well.

“He was big into the Resource for Independence and ADA. He was an advocate. He was bound to a wheelchair after a paralyzed accident.”
