Decatur Heights 2 Alarm Fire

Chris Myers

Chris Myers is the Morning Show Producer, Broadcaster, at WCBC Radio in Cumberland, Maryland. Myers handles various operational, engineering duties for the station and directs the morning news. In addition to his broadcasting role, Myers is a prominent downtown Cumberland businessman and an active community member who helps organize local events. Myers has been with the Cumberland Broadcasting Company, which operates WCBC, since August 2019 and began his career in radio broadcasting at the age of 14 as a board engineer for WQOL in Florida. In 1998 he was promoted to Chief Engineer for WTTB 1490AM and WGYL 93.7FM. In 2001 Treasure Coast broadcasters purchased additional stations WOSN, WPAW and WGNX.

Cumberland Fire Department responded just after 2 p.m. Monday to the 100 block of Bellevue Street for a two alarm residential fire. 50 firefighters work to extinguish the blaze that damaged two homes on Bellevue Street in the Decatur Heights district. One firefighter was injured on scene after falling on ice, but did not require transport to a hospital. Units remained on scene until approximately 4 p.m. The State fire marshals is investigating the fire. Units supporting the Cumberland Fire Department included Bowling Green, Bedford Road, Cresaptown, LaVale, Corriganville, Rawlings, Shaft, Ellerslie and additional crews from Ridgeley and Wiley Ford West Virginia.
