Delegates vote down Temporary Holiday Gas Tax Amendment

Maryland delegates in Annapolis on Wednesday voted down a 30-day gas tax holiday. Republican delegate, Todd Morgan introduced the amendment to create a gas tax holiday saying that “The theme of the season has been about affordability and to put a little bit of money back into the people’s pockets.” Democrats rejected the idea noting that the state cannot afford a $100 million loss to the state’s transportation fund. The average cost of unleaded gasoline in Allegany county is $3.89.
