Department of Housing & Community Development Grants

Money is coming to Allegany County in the form of grants from state revitalization programs administered by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development.  Announcement was made this week that the towns of Westernport and Lonaconing would receive $50,000 each for two façade programs for residential and commercial areas. The City of Cumberland is getting $100,000 to continue its roof replacement program and $50,000 for the Age in Place program that helps seniors remain at home.
