Drug Arrest Following Traffic Stop

On March 31, 2026, around 8:40 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle along Swanton Hill Road for traffic violations. During the course of the traffic stop, a Sheriff’s Office K-9 was utilized and conducted a K-9 scan of the vehicle which resulted in a positive alert. A subsequent search of the vehicle and passenger resulted in the recovery of Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, and Paraphernalia. As a result of the traffic the following individual was arrested and charged:

Emiley Yvonne Capel, 30, Oakland
Possession of Fentanyl
Possession of Methamphetamine.

Capel was transported to the Garrett County Detention Center where she was later released on her own recognizance after appearing before a District Court Commissioner
