Edwards Funding for Fiscal 2027 in Limbo for Now

While Western Marylanders rejoiced over Governor’s Moore’s budget giving $12 million dollars for Georges Creek flood repairs, there is concern of the continuation of the George C. Edwards Fund.  That fund has been a vital piece of economic development in the state’s three westernmost counties the last few years.  Jake Shade, executive director of the Edwards Fund, told WCBC at the PACE Reception that obtaining funding is now an annual task.  Shade added that he hopes the state legislature will restore funding.
