Elliott Files For Re-Election

The States Attorney for Allegany County has filed for re-election to his office. Jim Elliott, a Republican, was originally appointed to the position in 2021 by Judge Jeffrey Getty to fill a vacancy. Elliott then ran for the office in 2022 and was elected for another term. He is a graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law. He spent 6 years as Assistant Public Defender for Allegany and Garrett counties before becoming the district public defender from 2017-2021.
