Local businessman and art enthusiast Thomas Ferleman has been appointed by the Allegany County Commission to serve on the County Board of Zoning Appeals during the commissioners’ public meeting. The board works closely with Allegany County Planning Services implementing land use plans and policies that guide both current development and the county’s long-term vision. The department also provides planning support to the Planning and Zoning Commission, the county commissioners, local residents and partner organizations working to advance economic development and community growth. Mr. Ferleman serves as chief innovation officer at Essential Software, Inc. and is founder of Ferleman Gallery, Gallery Stage on North Centre Street and Roots Table which opens its doors later this week as the newest restaurant in downtown Cumberland.
