Film Ordinance To Be Discussed Further

Further discussion on a proposed ordinance dealing with movie and TV show production within the Cumberland city limits will be part of this evening’s Mayor and Council work session. The proposal would put a framework around how productions would cooperate with the City while filming. Jeff Silka, City Administrator, says it is not a money-grab for Cumberland…

“If you read the text of that ordinance, it is simply protecting public funds. We can’t provide public funds to a business or any industry. All that does is say that we have the authority if you need our services, if we need to provide police, fire, ems, specifically for your event, that we recover the costs.”
