Frederick Street Developer Not Hitting Benchmarks

Developers of the historic former post office and court building at 19 Frederick Street have not met established benchmarks in the building’s renovation. Clock Tower Ventures signed an agreement with the City of Cumberland in 2023 with a strict timeline to have the building open in two years. “The developer that’s in there has been struggling to be able to complete it. We have the opportunity if necessary to claw that back into the city and we’re taking a look at it to see whether that would be the best thing to do going forward to be quite frank.”
