Frostburg Man Dies in Vehicle Accident Friday

On November 6, 2026, at approximately 12:00 p.m., deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of National Highway at Vale Summit for a reported motor vehicle collision.

As a result of the collision, John Daniel Michaels Jr., 50, of Frostburg, was seriously injured. Mr. Michaels was transported by the Allegany County Department of Emergency Services to UPMC Cumberland, where he later succumbed to his injuries.  The investigation into this collision is ongoing and is being conducted by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team.
