George Washington Headquarters CDS Arrest

On Monday, May 4, 2026 at approximately 1:33 PM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department was conducting a foot patrol in the area of George Washington Headquarters when he observed Gary Bookheimer Jr. lying on the ground. Police contacted him and observed suspected drug paraphernalia in his possession. Once confronted, Bookheimer threw the paraphernalia into the river. He was placed under arrest and found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and additional drug paraphernalia. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and posted a $2,500 unsecured personal bond.
