Griffith’s Attempt To Restore Police Funding Fails

After Governor Moore signed emergency legislation last month ending 287-g agreements between law enforcement and immigrations agents, most thought the matter was over. Republican Delegate Mike Griffith attempted a budget amendment that would remove a rule withholding funding from law agencies that cannot prove they are not assisting ICE, but it failed. Statewide, $124 million in funding could be withheld from law agencies for non-compliance.
