Interim Fire Chief Named

The City of Cumberland has named Cody Pearce as Interim Fire Chief. Pearce has 19 years of experience with the city fire department as firefighter and EMT and has most recently been serving as Deputy Chief.  Mayor Ray Morriss tells WCBC that Pearce is in the running for the permanent position, but recruitment continues for the job…

“We’ve put it out and we’ve got some applicants in and we’re picking a few that we’re going to interview. At this point in time right now Chief Adams is doing a lot of training and other things within the department and we just wanted to have a clear line of delineation.”
