Is Moore’s Exclusion More Racism From Trump?

The annual White House governors meeting will only include Republican leaders this year. Maryland Governor Wes Moore, the nation’s first black governor, released a statement that he had been “disinvited” to the after-meeting black-tie dinner. Moore says the National Governor’s Association of which he is vice-chair will not recognize the dinner as an official NGA event. Moore was asked by CNN if he thought race played a role…

“I am never in a room because of someone’s benevolence or kindness. I’m not in a room because of a social experiment. I’m in the room because I belong there and the room was incomplete until I got there… I can’t speak to the President’s intent. It’s not lost to me, but I can’t speak to the President’s intent.”
