Library Director Looking Ahead For Westernport

News that Westernport will be getting a brand new library building has officials getting together to determine how the new site at Bruce Park will be able to serve users. The Town of Westernport has received a grant from Maryland DNR that will allow for installation of a pickleball court and splash pad at the park and Allegany County Library System director Lisa McKenney is hoping to expand the “library of things” to the new site…

“When we were thinking about this opportunity with Westernport, I immediately started thinking about oh, we could check out like pickleball racquets and we could check out the balls that people would play, picnic equipment where people could go to the pavilion and have a picnic.”
