Library System Expanding Hours

The Allegany County Library System is implementing a new schedule of operating hours at the LaVale Library starting July 6th with updated hours for other branches coming in August. Executive Director Lisa McKenney says they have received feedback from stakeholders and are taking a fresh approach to serving needs. In July, the LaVale branch will be open till 7pm on Monday and Tuesday, 9 till 4 on Wednesday and Thursday, and 9 till 2 on Friday. Those hours will roll out to the other library branches beginning in August. Overall, the library system’s service hours will increase 24 hours per week.
