Main Street Program Committees Forming

Downtown Cumberland continues its efforts to attract new ideas for the growth of the business district.  Main Street Manager Melinda Kelleher says there will be four committees forming to help in planning, with one of them focusing on promotions…

“The promotions committee will be overseeing the promotion of Downtown Cumberland generally, but one of the main things they’ll be working on is we’re going to do a brand new signature event that will be next May or June.”

Kelleher added that there will also be an economic vitality committee. The other two new committees are Design and Organization.  Kelleher said interested persons should contact her at City Hall.

“The economic vitality committee works with me on looking at any vacant buildings and what kind of businesses we’d like to recruit for those building working with building owners to find tenants.”
