Martirano Pleased With Year One In Office

Dr. Michael Martirano has completed one year in office as superintendent and he feels Allegany County schools are moving in the right direction. Dr. Martirano tells WCBC one powerful indicator is the graduation rate…
“Our graduation rate is up and we’re number seven in the state. I won’t rest until we’re number one and I think that’s a realistic goal.”
Dr. Martirano says the positive feeling in the system among teachers and students is palpable.
“I am thrilled to be the superintendent of the school system. There’s so much energy around what we’re doing and kids are winning.”
