Maryland highway deaths for 2026 have surpassed 200. During the week of July 27 through August 2nd, six people died on Maryland highways in crashes.  For July 37 fatalities were reported, including 11 motorcyclists. While the number of deaths on Maryland roads is less than this time last year, the Maryland State Department of Transportation continues its “Slow The Fast Down” campaign, urging drivers to drive with care and slow down, especially around emergency vehicles and in work zones.
