Maryland Publishes Housing Targets

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development published its year 2030 Housing Production Targets report, and it has determined that the state needs to double its rate of housing production over the next five years. The state is clearly in a housing crisis, projecting to need over 184,000 additional housing units by 2030 – but it is on track to produce just under 95,000. The housing target reflects a 5-year scaling of production to meet need. In Allegany County, the state’s target is to produce 31 housing units per year through 2030.
