Maryland Senate Republicans Requesting Veto

All of Maryland’s 13 Republican state senators have united in a request to Governor Wes Moore that he veto the Community Trust Act, which passed at the end of the Maryland General Assembly session. Saying the legislation effectively creates a sanctuary state for illegal immigrants, Senate Minority Whip Justin Ready says a veto would prevent further issues with law enforcement collaborating with federal authorities…
“We’ve asked Governor Moore, we’re calling on Governor Moore to veto this very reckless bill because it goes way beyond some of the other discussion about what happens when someone’s picked up that’s here legally for a minor traffic offense. This would let people who have committed very serious crimes, walk.”
