Mayor Coburn Not Happy With County Administrator

At last week’s Allegany County Commissioners meeting, tempers flared between Lonaconing Mayor Jack Coburn and County Administrator Jason Bennett. At issue is a water bill the county has sent to Lonaconing for payment of water the commissioners bought from Frostburg years ago. Mayor Coburn was not pleased with Bennett’s nonverbal response to his comments…

 

“Coburn:  I see Jason laughing.  Bennett:  I mean, I have no idea where your math is coming from or where you’re getting any of this, frankly.”

Mayor Coburn went on to question Bennett’s fitness for his position…

“I told those commissioners a year and a half ago – you need rid of him. One of the commissioners said he’s here to protect us. Well, I got bad news for you. If you picked him to protect you, you surely got the bad end of that deal.”
