“It’s a re-envisioning of a possible downtown convention area, a gathering area for people. And I think that, when you open that view up, I think that makes the connection.”

Candidate Darrell Lee Powell would like to see use of land on the other side of Canal Place…

“Maybe we could open up all that wooded area down there for some camping if the federal government would allow people to come in who are riding their bicycles who like to camp, they might want to go down there and camp on the other side of the actual water canal portion of it.”
