McKay’s Amendments Voted Down
Debate Thursday in the Maryland Senate centered on a bill that would prohibit law enforcement from wearing face coverings. SB1 is seen as being in direct response to the actions of immigrations and custom officers across the country. Senator Mike McKay introduced 3 amendments to the bill, all of which were voted down. One would have hidden the addresses of officers in any charging documents…
“But to remove the home address of the officer I believe is prudent and I also tend to believe, as I started out – we need to protect due process – having the officer’s home address only inspires somebody to do something negative.”
