MDOT Launches Motorcycle Safety Month

The Maryland Department of Transportation is continuing its commitment to promoting road safety statewide by observing Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month in May. Several events are being held across the state to educate drivers on being aware of motorcycles on the roads. “Last year, Maryland recorded 49 motorcyclist’s deaths after we experienced 90 deaths the year before – nearly a 50% decrease. At MDOT, we believe any death on Maryland roads is unacceptable and crashes are preventable. We know that each and every one of those numbers is a person and a family that’s impacted forever.”
