Miller Nominated for Civilian of the Year

Fire Safety Inspector Travis Miller has been nominated for the Office of the state Fire Marshal’s 2025 Civilian of the Year Award. Miller was recognized for his work in safety inspections and community risk reduction. Miller has served in the Western Regional Office since 2020, covering Allegany, Garrett, and Washington counties. He is also the assistant chief at the LaVale Volunteer Fire Department. The award winner will be announced June 22 at the Maryland State Firefighters Convention in Ocean City.
