Mineral County Commission Motions Against MARL Line

Mineral County Commissioners voted to file as interveners in the proposed 107-mile, 500-kv Mid-Atlantic Resiliency Link transmission line.  The power line would run through West Virginia, connecting Dunkard Township, Pennsylvania to Gore, Virginia.  Commissioner President Roger Leatherman said he has seen lines like these in a neighboring county making the land unusable…

“The thing that concerns me about all of these, ‘cause I look at this every time I go up to Grant County, there’s about two or three lines coming through close together—I don’t know if you’re familiar with that.  Do you realize what that has cost the county?  As far as nobody can build there.  You’re done.  It’s just wasted ground other than pasture.”
