Mineral County Phone Scam

The Mineral County Sheriff’s Office has received multiple reports of a phone scam targeting our community. Scammers are calling individuals claiming to be employees of the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office, stating that a family member has been arrested and demanding payment through Venmo or similar apps to “bond them out.” The Sheriff’s office will not request any payments by text.  Bond payments are handled only through the court system.
