Morrisey Calls Legislature to Pass $199 Million Rural Health Funding Bills

Governor Patrick Morrisey signed House Bill 4740 that provides purchasing exemptions for the Rural Health Transformation Program. He then called on the West Virginia Legislature to authorize the deployment of the $199 million in federal funding to launch the state’s Rural Health Transformation Program set to improve healthcare outcomes for diseases such as COPD, diabetes, and obesity…
“When you improve those outcomes more people go to work. When more people go to work, we have more productivity in the economy. We strengthen our standard of living, and then that feeds back in, and then we can reinvest back in healthcare and the many different things that are going to help make our society stronger as a whole to support that.”
