Governor Patrick Morrisey signed bills into law that invest in West Virginia infrastructure as well as safety. Senate Bill 692 will add green flashing lights on Division of Highway vehicles to enhance their visibility on roads. House Bill 4538 increases penalties for speeding in work zones – Morrisey says those that put other lives at risk face consequences…

“What kind of increase? Well, the fines that were around $200 can now reach up to $500 for some lower-level violations and up to $1,000 more for serious speeding offenses. The bill is also going to increase some penalties for behaviors like texting while driving or ignoring flagmen.”
