New FSU President Talks With Frostburg Mayor and Council

At this week’s Frostburg Mayor and Council meeting, Dr. Shadow Robinson, new president of Frostburg State University was a special guest.  Dr. Robinson was born in a small town on the border of Kentucky and Virginia. He told the council he is happy to be able to return to the region…

“My parents believed in education. Because my parents knew that it would open doors that could take me anywhere in the world and in my case, thankfully, back to Appalachia.”

Robinson said that the university is uniquely suited for the area and can have a positive influence on the region…

“I think Frostburg State University is somewhat unique in that there aren’t many universities located in the heart of Appalachia the way we are and the most important thing to me when I think about the role of our university and moving forward is never losing sight of the symbiotic relationship we have with the communities around us.”
