November National Family Caregiver Month

The Cumberland Mayor and City Council proclaimed November as National Family Caregiver Month during the most recent Mayor and City Council meeting.  A caregiver’s tasks include emotional care, medical care, personal care, assistance with daily living and life management, and may act as the loved one’s advocate.  Mayor Ray Morriss said about 24% of Marylanders act as family caregivers…

Maryland has over 1.15 million individuals who serve as unpaid caregivers who are offering their devotion and valuable time. 250,000 individuals living in Maryland provide care for loved ones with Alzheimer’s Disease or Dementia.
