Office Of Statewide Broadband Expanding

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development says the Maryland Digital Equity Coalition is moving under the Office of Statewide Broadband. The state says the shift will strengthen efforts to expand high‑speed internet and digital access statewide. The coalition, founded in 2023, has grown to about 350 members. The Office of Statewide Broadband connected more than 71‑thousand Maryland households last year, including homes on remote Smith Island.
